Functional Bowel Disorder

Functional Bowel Disorder is a disorder characterized by abdominal pain and other symptoms in the absence of serious diseases. People started talking about this disease during the Second World War, but only in 1993 the World Health Organization officially recognized its existence and has introduced a special diagnosis for it.

Currently, about 15-20% of the global population suffer from this disorder.

If you are between 24 to 41 years old, you live in the city, constantly feeling anxious, snacking on the run, not eating enough fruits and vegetables, you have all the conditions to get ill of functional bowel disorder.

Characteristic symptoms of this disease are: abdominal pain and discomfort of various intensities (typically occurs after a meal), constant bloating, constipation and diarrhea, tenesmus, pain and discomfort in the intestine after the bowel movement.

The functional bowel disorder occurs when 2 factors are connected: external influence (psychosocial problems) and internal influence (decreasing of visceral sensitivity and low motor activity of the digestive organ).

The main reasons that lead to the development of the disease: fatigue and anxiety, hypochondria, hysteria and neurosis, poor diet, use of antibiotics, infectious diseases and intoxication, gynecological diseases and hormonal disorders.

There is not an ideal way to get rid of functional bowel disorder, because in addition to the physiological problems that can be diagnosed and treated more easily, there are psychological problems.

The main goal of the treatment is to eliminate the symptoms and the root cause of the disorder.

In this sense, a drug treatment for the digestive system is applied in conjunction with a healthy diet, from which you must eliminate foods that cause flatulence (beans, cabbage, sweets, alcohol, etc.), the inclusion of prebiotic foods in the menu to create a healthy environment in the bowel and sport activities.
