Descritpion and Composition
Each film-coated tablet contains anastrozole 1 mg. Excipient with known effect: lactose monohydrate.

Indication: Anastrozole is indicated for the treatment of advanced breast cancer with oestrogen receptors present in postmenopausal women, and as adjuvant treatment for early-stage invasive oestrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women (including after 2–3 years of adjuvant tamoxifen therapy).

Patients with known hypersensitivity to anastrozole or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1.
Pregnant or breast-feeding women.

General
Anastrozole should not be used in pre-menopausal women. The diagnosis of menopause should be established biochemically (luteinising hormone [LH], follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and/or plasma oestradiol concentrations) in any patient whose menopausal status is uncertain. There are no data to support the concomitant use of Anastrozole with LHRH analogues. Concomitant administration of tamoxifen or oestrogen-containing therapies with Anastrozole should be avoided, as this may diminish their pharmacological action (see sections 4.5 and 5.1).
