Descritpion and Composition
Each sachet (4.97 g) contains: paracetamol 750 mg, ascorbic acid 200 mg, anhydrous caffeine 30 mg, phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg, pheniramine maleate 20 mg. Excipient with known effect: sucrose. Available in lemon or orange flavour.

Indication: Symptomatic treatment of acute respiratory infections and flu, relieving fever, headache, nasal congestion, rhinitis and muscle pain.

Contraindications (SmPC sec. 4.3): 4.3. Contraindications - Hypersensitivity to paracetamol, ascorbic acid, caffeine, phenylephrine hydrochloride, pheniramine maleate or any of the excipients listed in section 6.1 - hepatic failure - congenital hyperbilirubinaemias (Gilbert's, Dubin-Johnson and Rotor syndromes) - acute hepatitis - glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency - chronic alcoholism - moderate and severe renal impairment - severe coronary disease, severe cardiac disease - arterial hypertension - diabetes mellitus - hyperthyroidism - concomitant use of other medicines containing active substances similar to the components of Antigripal Forte - concomitant use of tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), beta-blockers, including within 2 weeks of stopping treatment with MAOIs - glaucoma - symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy - pyloroduodenal obstruction - phaeochromocytoma - pregnancy, breast-feeding - age under 18 years.

Special warnings and precautions (SmPC sec. 4.4, excerpt): 4.4. Special warnings and precautions for use Do not use with other products containing paracetamol, decongestants or cold and flu medicines. Antigripal Forte contains paracetamol. Concomitant use with other paracetamol-containing products may lead to overdose. Paracetamol overdose may cause hepatic failure requiring liver transplantation or leading to death. Cases of hepatic dysfunction/failure have been reported in patients with low glutathione levels, such as those who are severely malnourished, anorexic, have a low body mass index, or are chronic alcohol users. The risk of overdose is higher in patients with liver disease. Caution is required in cases of alcoholism and hepatic conditions.
