Descritpion and Composition
Each ml of Sodium Chloride-BP solution for injection contains sodium chloride 9 mg.

Indication: Vehicle or solvent for the parenteral administration of medicinal products by the intravenous, intramuscular or subcutaneous route.

Contraindications (SmPC sec. 4.3): 4.3 Contraindications
- Hypernatraemia.
- Hyperchloraemia.
The contraindications of the diluted medicinal product or of the added medicinal product must be taken into account.

The solution should be used immediately after opening the ampoule. Do not use the solution if it is not clear. Before adding a medicinal product to the contents of the ampoule, the compatibility between the substance to be administered and sodium chloride must be checked. For subcutaneous administration, additives that could alter tonicity must not be added. The solution should be administered with caution in elderly patients or young children. Newborns, whether premature or full-term, may have excessively high plasma sodium concentrations due to renal function immaturity. Therefore, in premature or full-term newborns, repeated injections of sodium chloride may be given only after determination of the plasma sodium concentration.
