Descritpion and Composition
DapaFORT-BP by Balkan Pharmaceuticals is an advanced oral antihyperglycemic agent belonging to the selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor class. Its active substance, dapagliflozin, is indicated for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, administered as monotherapy or adjunct to other antidiabetic therapies to maintain consistent and targeted glycemic control.

Active substance: Dapagliflozin (5 mg or 10 mg per film-coated tablet).

Mechanism of Action: Selectively blocks the renal SGLT2 transporter, suppressing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys and promoting urinary glucose excretion, thereby reducing plasma glucose levels independently of insulin secretion.

Available Strengths:

5 mg: Baseline dose indicated for treatment initiation or moderate glycemic control.
