Dexametazon-BP (tab)

Dexamethasonum

Composition: Active substance: dexamethasone. Tablets of 0.5 mg, 2 mg or 4 mg dexamethasone. Excipients: magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium, povidone K25, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate.

Indications: Systemic glucocorticoid for cerebral edema, severe asthma, rheumatic/autoimmune diseases, severe allergies, hematological diseases, neoplasms, adrenal insufficiency, inflammatory bowel disease, uveitis, severe COVID-19 with oxygen therapy, postoperative/chemotherapy-induced nausea.

Precautions: Contraindicated in allergy to the substance, untreated generalized infections, active gastroduodenal ulcer, vaccination with live organisms. Precautions: risk of psychiatric disorders, tumor lysis syndrome, intestinal perforation, masking/reactivation of infections (chickenpox, TB), adrenal insufficiency upon abrupt discontinuation, osteoporosis, diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma/cataract, thrombotic risk (especially with thalidomide); do not abruptly stop long-term treatment; pregnancy/breastfeeding only on medical advice; contains lactose.
