Descritpion and Composition
Each ampoule (2 ml) contains furosemide 20 mg (10 mg/ml). Excipient with known effect: sodium 7.51 mg per ampoule.Indication: A diuretic indicated when prompt and effective diuresis is required, and in: cardiac emergencies (acute pulmonary oedema), hypertensive crisis, congestive heart failure, oedema due to liver cirrhosis or renal disease (resistant to thiazide diuretics, possibly in combination with them or with potassium-sparing diuretics), acute renal failure with oliguria, hypercalcaemia.
Contraindications (SmPC sec. 4.3): 4.3 Contraindications − Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1 − Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides (e.g. antibacterial sulfonamides or sulfonylureas), since cross-hypersensitivity to furosemide may occur − Urinary tract obstruction with oliguria − Acute renal failure with anuria − Hypovolaemia or dehydration − Severe hepatocellular insufficiency − Hepatic encephalopathy − Pre-comatose or comatose states associated with hepatic encephalopathy − Severe hypokalaemia (
