Descritpion and Composition
Each tablet contains: paracetamol 251 mg, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 61.2 mg, chlorphenamine maleate 2.54 mg. Excipient with known effect: sodium.

Indication: Gripp Off is indicated to relieve symptoms associated with common cold, flu or allergic rhinitis: excessive nasal discharge, nasal and sinus congestion, nasal and ocular redness, watery eyes, nasal or throat itching, sneezing, headache, sinus pain, sore throat, myalgia, arthralgia, fever and general weakness.

Contraindications (SmPC sec. 4.3): 4.3 Contraindications − Hypersensitivity to the active substances: paracetamol, pseudoephedrine, chlorphenamine, or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1. − Severe or uncontrolled arterial hypertension − Tachycardia − Severe coronary disease − Diagnosed congenital long QT syndrome or Torsades de Pointes − Severe acute or chronic renal disease/renal impairment − Severe hepatic impairment − Bladder neck obstruction − Pyloroduodenal obstruction − Stenosing peptic ulcer − Pulmonary diseases (including asthma) − Epilepsy and a history of convulsions − Angle-closure glaucoma − Diabetes mellitus − Phaeochromocytoma − Hyperthyroidism − Pregnancy and breast-feeding − Concomitant use of other medicines containing active substances similar to those in Gripp Off − Use together with sympathomimetic medicines (decongestants, tricyclic antidepressants, appetite suppressants or amphetamine-like psychostimulants) and beta-blockers. − Patients using or who have used monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) (including furazolidone) within the past two weeks (see section 4.5); concomitant use of pseudoephedrine and this type of medicine may cause an increase in blood pressure.

Special warnings and precautions (SmPC sec. 4.4, excerpt): 4.4 Special warnings and precautions for use In case of high fever of 39°C lasting more than 3 days, the appearance of signs of superinfection, or persistence of symptoms beyond 4 days, treatment should be reassessed. Do not use with other products containing paracetamol, decongestants, or other cold and flu medicines. During treatment, avoid consumption of alcoholic beverages/alcohol-based medicines, hypnotics and anxiolytics (tranquillisers). Special warnings concerning pseudoephedrine hydrochloride: − The dose, the maximum recommended treatment duration (5 days) and the contraindications (see section 4.3) must be strictly observed. − Patients/parents of paediatric patients must be informed that treatment should be discontinued if hypertension, tachycardia, palpitations, cardiac arrhythmias, nausea or any […] occur.
