Descritpion and Composition
Metformin-BP 500 mg: each film-coated tablet contains metformin hydrochloride 500 mg. Metformin-BP 850 mg: 850 mg. Metformin-BP 1000 mg: 1000 mg.Indication: Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate glycaemic control; in adults, as monotherapy or combined with other oral antidiabetics or insulin; in children over 10 years and adolescents, as monotherapy or combined with insulin.
Contraindications (SmPC sec. 4.3): 4.3 Contraindications - Hypersensitivity to metformin or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1. - Any type of acute metabolic acidosis (such as lactic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis). - Diabetic pre-coma. - Severe renal impairment (GFR
