Balkan Pharmaceuticals - a major investor in the Republic of Moldova
The pharmaceutical company founded in 2006, is one of the largest Romanian investors in the Republic of Moldova. In just a few years since its launch, the company has started investing in expanding its business and opening a new production facility.

"I am happy to be back! I remember the moment of the inauguration of this factory 5 years ago and I really liked what I saw now. I found something of high quality. I was pleased to learn that 200 employees work here, of which over 70% are people with higher education. I think it is an important investment from Romania in the Republic of Moldova, in a field of excellence, which requires not only skill but also very high knowledge in technology.

"I am glad that this investment was possible due to Romanian businessmen, who prove that performance can be done in the Republic of Moldova," said His Excellency, Mr. Daniel Ioniță, Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova.


The company has 240 employees, doctors, chemists, technologists, mechanics, programmers, engineers, highly qualified specialists. In order to maintain the high level of training of the employees, professionals from other states, implicitly from Romania, are periodically attracted.

"Initially, the business started with a micro-production laboratory, located within the Chisinau municipality, which at the time of opening had 20 employees. Today, we already have 3 production units, one in Chisinau and one (double) unit in Singera, which was opened 5 years ago. At the moment, 240 employees work here ", mentioned Mr. Vasile Cazacu, General Manager of Balkan Pharmaceuticals.

Currently, the company produces over 300 types of medicines and plans to increase investments in the Republic of Moldova. The Sîngera plant allows a significant increase in production volume and expansion to the European Union and CIS markets.
