Paracetamolum

Paracetamol-BP 200 mg tablets: Each tablet contains paracetamol 200 mg.

Paracetamol-BP 500 mg tablets: Each tablet contains paracetamol 500 mg.

Indication: Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic with mild to moderate potency. It is recommended for: symptomatic treatment of mild-to-moderate pain and febrile conditions, such as: headache (including migraine and tension-type headache), dysmenorrhoea, neuralgia, sore throat, post-vaccination pain and fever, musculoskeletal pain/rheumatic pain, low back pain, osteoarthritis pain, dental pain (including after extractions or surgical procedures); relief of fever and pain associated with colds and flu.

Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1 − Severe hepatic impairment − Severe renal impairment − Children under 6 years of age.

In case of high fever of 39°C lasting more than 3 days, appearance of signs of superinfection, or persistence of symptoms beyond 5 days, treatment should be re-evaluated. Do not use concomitantly with other products containing paracetamol or other cold and flu medicines. Concomitant use with other paracetamol-containing products may lead to overdose. Paracetamol overdose can cause hepatic failure that may require liver transplantation or may lead to death. Antidote treatment, in case of overdose, must be given as soon as possible (see section 4.9). Consumption of alcoholic beverages should be avoided during treatment.
