Pregabalin-BP

Pregabalinum

Composition: Active substance: pregabalin, capsules 75 mg, 150 mg or 300 mg. Capsule excipients: talc, lactose monohydrate, corn starch; shell: titanium dioxide (E171), indigotine (E132), gelatin (+ for 300 mg: azorubine E122, red/yellow iron oxide E172).

Indications: Treatment of peripheral/central neuropathic pain, epilepsy (adjunctive therapy) and generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) in adults.

Precautions: Contraindicated in allergy to pregabalin. Important precautions: allergic reactions/angioedema, severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), dizziness/somnolence (risk of falling), visual disturbances, cardiac/renal insufficiency, suicidal ideation, risk of dependence and withdrawal syndrome, convulsions, breathing difficulties; interacts with opioids/sedatives/alcohol (risk of respiratory failure); contraindicated under 18 years; congenital malformations when used in the first trimester of pregnancy; contains lactose (and azorubine at 300 mg).
